Please take time to Pray for the Lord of the Harvest to raise up Laborers to Go into these areas of the world to bring the wonderful message of God's Salvation through Our Lord Jesus Christ...
There are about 12000 people groups in the world. Roughly 6000 are considered reached with the Gospel, 3000 of them are in the process of being reached, and there are around 3000 people groups in the world that have relatively few (if any) known true believers in Jesus. These are commonly referred to as "Unreached People Groups," or UPG's.
This link is provided as a resource to help mobilize prayer for the remaining UPG's, to beg the Lord of the Harvest to send workers into these fields... (Mt 9.37-38). "How will they hear unless someone tells them?" (Rom 10.14) Please ask the Lord today to raise up someone who can somehow help these people learn about Jesus.
A Joshua Project status of 2.2 or lower indicates a people group which is less than 2% evangelical. For purposes of the information, the term "Evangelical" here refers to a trans-denominational estimate of the number of true Christ-followers within a group.
These UPGs are in desperate need of outside help in establishing a growing movement of Christians who can reach their group with the Good News of Jesus Christ. A people group with an estimate of 0.01% evangelicals, for example, would have roughly one true Christian for every 10,000 people. Compare that to, say, the United States or Kenya, with evangelical populations of more than 30% (which would mean more than 3000 true Christians for every 10,000 people).
Obviously there is still "work to be done" in the "Reached" people groups, but where there is extra work to be done and outside resources are needed in order to reach these unreached peoples, our prayers can play a strategic role.
